  1. Why does this song supplant Lord Ramachandra Prabu who destroyed Ravana with Lord Murugan?

    1. Becoz Muruga is son in law of Vishnu

    2. Because it wants to say that.... Lord Vishnu who killed Ravana..... Oh Lord Murugga you are HIS favourite

    3. Murga is not the son in law of Vishnu. Muruga is the son in law of Indra, he married his daughter Devasena, so he is also known as Devasenapathy. It also means the Commander in Chief of Gods armies and he is in fact. Devasena is also known as Devayani. Indra is the lord of the Heavens.

    4. First one has to understand this song where and how it was sung. It's total mysticism. That is Lord Muruga he himself is singing this song through Saint Arunagiri as if he himself is Arunagiri. This is bit confusing but one who knows little about yoga can understand this.
      This song again is total mysticism as this song in itself can give you all you want in spiritual and material life.
      It's divided into three parts. The first part says you have to be close to Lord Muruga as his consorts are. Then if you are close to him, you will get his blessings and advice. Once you get that, Lord Narayana comes and destroys all your ten delusions as he destroyed Ravana. Then the Divine Mother and Lord Bhairava comes to destroy the remaining demons and grants you liberation.
      I have tried to put it in short and if there is any mistake, kindly forgive me.
      Thanks

    5. Lord Murugan is not son in law of Lord Vishnu but neohew ( மருமகன்). Lord Vishnu is brother of Parvathi who is mother of Lord Murugan.

    6. All is one dudes, purana are very metaphorical. If the poet brought perumal or thirumal into a single piece it is poetic liberty as it is his sagely recognised of the various deities. What bedha, to arunagiri they are related, nope he experienced multiplicity and oneness in his rendition

  4. It is us unfortunates who see these confusing and glaring differences between Lord Ramachandra and Lord Kartikeya. But to one established in the Supreme Self-Awareness, the ultimate Reality, they all appear as One enacting various roles.
    To the Jnani it is the Supreme Brahman;
    And to the Devotee like Arunagirinathar, it is his 'Ishta Devata', Lord Murugan.

  5. Sir, here Saint Arunagirinathar is describing Lord MahaVishnu who himself narrates the story behind hos Desavatharams and adds that he has destroyed all his enemies by playing all these games....And ofcourse he won in the end destroying allthr evils...But he tells that Lord Murugan who is his great son in law has defeated his enemy Soorapathman and has converted his body into cock and soul into peacock...thus those who worship Lord Murugaa always worship these two also.This clearly points out the great forgiving nature of Lord Murugaa....Such is the greatness pf Lord Murugaa as said by Lord MahaVishnu himself...
    This I think os the clarification...
    Thanks
    An Ardent Murugan Devotee
    Dr Lakshmy Hari....
